apophenic dreams.

"Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in a casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable."

- C.S. Lewis

I never wanted the throne. I only wanted to be your equal.

THIS.  It was this scene, and these words, that made my heart ache for Loki.  The Loki in the original comics would’ve meant the opposite, but Tom Hiddleston, with his depth of emotion shining so clearly in his eyes, redefined Loki into someone whom the audience can ache for and with.
And the thing is… I can suddenly see them as who Arthur and Merlin can be if Arthur isn’t careful.  Especially because of this line:
I only wanted to be your equal.
