apophenic dreams.

"Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact you must give it to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements. Lock it up safe in a casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket, safe, dark, motionless, airless, it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. To love is to be vulnerable."

- C.S. Lewis

365films challenge

I thought Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was absolutely brilliant. I will admit that I had a hard time taking some parts seriously, mostly because I have trouble taking Toby Jones seriously (it’s an inside joke between me and a couple of friends - nothing against him or his acting at all. In fact, he’s rather brilliant), but I’m sure that shouldn’t be a problem for anybody else.

It’s a well thought out film with nice subtleties brought into each character that make them seem very real and very easy to relate to. It definitely made me more interested in reading the book than I already was.

As well as being a brilliant story, the movie was cinematically beautiful and the soundtrack was superb. Topped with an absolutely perfect cast list, this movie is a definite must see.

Sherlock realized that it was easier for John to keep up with him if they were just handcuffed together at all times. Really, it was a no-brainer.
I regret nothing.
